(The tribe of) A'ad denied the messengers (of Allah). 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds 127 “What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?” 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 And fear He who provided you with that which you know, 132 Gave you increase of cattle and sons, 133 And orchards and springs. 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day' 135 They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach; 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 "And we are not going to be punished." 138 So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140
