'Aad denied the messengers 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 Have fear of God and obey me. 126 I ask no recompense of you for it. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 127 Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do: 128 and make for yourselves mighty castles, [hoping] that you might become immortal? 129 And when ye seize, ye seize like unto tyrants. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 Fear Him who has given you all the things you know. 132 "He has aided you with cattle and children. 133 And gardens and fountains; 134 Lo! I fear for you the retribution of an awful day. 135 They said, “It is the same for us, whether you advise us or not be of the preachers.” 136 "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients, 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 In response they denied him We therefore destroyed them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 139 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 140
