The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: fear ye not? 124 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: 125 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 126 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 127 Do you build over each high place a sign to amuse yourselves! 128 And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide. 129 And when you strike, you strike as tyrants. 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 gardens and fountains. 134 I fear the punishment of a terrible day for you. 135 They said, 'Alike it is to us, whether thou admonishest, or art not one of the admonishers; 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 "And we are not going to be punished." 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
