The people of 'Ad accused the messengers of lies. 123 Recall, when their brother Hud said to them: "Have you no fear? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 You construct monuments on every hill in vain, 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 When you attack, you attack as tyrants do. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 And fear Him Who hath aided you with that which ye know. 132 Gave you increase of cattle and sons, 133 gardens and fountains. 134 for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!" 135 They said: it is equal unto us whether thou admonishest or art not of the admonishers. 136 That is nothing but a habit of the ancients, 137 And we are not going to be tormented. 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 140
