'Aad denied the messengers 123 when their brother Hood said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 124 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: 125 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 126 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 127 Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves, 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants? 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 And fear He who provided you with that which you know, 132 amply provided you with flocks, and children, 133 gardens and fountains. 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day' 135 They replied, "It makes no difference to us whether you preach or do not preach, 136 This is but a custom of the ancients. 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 Then they accused him of lies; so We annihilated them. Verily there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 140
