The tribe of Thamud rejected the Messengers. 141 When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 142 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 143 So fear Allah and obey me. 144 I do not ask any recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 145 Will you be left secure in this here, 146 amidst gardens and springs 147 And corn-fields and palm-trees whereof the spathes are fine? 148 "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. 149 Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me, 150 And do not obey the bidding of the extravagant, 151 Who work corruption in the land and rectify not. 152 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 153 You are only a human being like ourselves. Show us a sign, if you are telling the truth." 154 (Saleh) said: "Here is a she-camel. She has a right of drinking water, and you have a right of drinking it on appointed turns. 155 And do not touch her with evil, lest the punishment of a grievous day should overtake you. 156 But they hamstrung her and then regretted it. 157 So the retribution came on them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 158 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
