The tribe of Thamud rejected the Messengers. 141 when their brother Salih said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 142 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 143 so fear God and obey me. 144 For this I demand no recompense from you; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 145 “Will you be left peacefully in these favours over here?” 146 amidst the gardens, springs, 147 “And fields and palm-trees, with delicate tendrils?” 148 “And you carve out dwellings in the mountains, with skill?” 149 So fear Allah and obey me. 150 Do not follow those who are extravagant, 151 those who spread corruption in the land instead of putting things right." 152 They replied: "You are nothing but one of those who are bewitched; 153 You are a mere mortal like us. Show us a miracle if you are telling the Truth". 154 Salih said: "This is a she-camel. There is a day set for her to drink and there is a day set for you to drink. 155 Do not touch her with malice so that punishment of a dreadful day seizes you' 156 But they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful, 157 So the chastisement seized them. Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 158 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 159

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
