The Thamud gave the lie to the Messengers. 141 When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 142 I am for you an honest Messenger. 143 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 144 And I ask of you no hire therefor; MY hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 145 Do you believe that you will be left here to live securely in the present state 146 among gardens and fountains, 147 And corn-fields and palm-trees whereof the spathes are fine? 148 and that you will [always be able to] hew dwellings out of the mountains with [the same] great skill?" 149 "But fear Allah and obey me; 150 Do not follow those who are extravagant, 151 who do corruption in the earth, and set not things aright.' 152 They replied: "You are nothing but one of those who are bewitched; 153 You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful." 154 He said: (Behold) this she-camel. She hath the right to drink (at the well), and ye have the right to drink, (each) on an appointed day. 155 And touch her not with ill, lest there take hold of you the torment of a Mighty Day. 156 They slew the she-camel, but later became regretful 157 so the punishment came down upon them. Surely in that there is a sign, but most of them would not believe. 158 Your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 159

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
