Samood gave the lie to the apostles 141 When their brother Salih (Saleh) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 142 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 143 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 144 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds: 145 “Will you be left peacefully in these favours over here?” 146 In gardens and fountains, 147 And green crops (fields etc.) and date-palms with soft spadix. 148 "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. 149 So fear Allah and obey me. 150 and obey not the commandment of the prodigal 151 those who spread corruption in the land instead of putting things right." 152 They replied: "You are nothing but one of those who are bewitched; 153 Thou art but a mortal like us. So bring some token if thou art of the truthful. 154 Salih said: "This is a she-camel. There is a day set for her to drink and there is a day set for you to drink. 155 Do not treat her unkindly or the punishment of a grievous day will fall on you." 156 But they hamstrung her and then regretted it. 157 So the punishment overtook them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 158 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 159
