Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
