The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
