The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
