The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
