The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
