The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
