The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 then We destroyed the others, 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
