The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
