The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
