Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 then We destroyed the others, 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
