The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
