The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
