The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 then We destroyed the others, 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
