The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
