The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He. said: My Lord is the Best Knower of that which ye work. 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
