The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
