The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
