Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They replied, "You are bewitched. 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
