The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
