And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
