Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And We did not destroy any town but it had (its) warners, 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Art thou not aware that they roam confusedly through all the valleys [of words and thoughts,] 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
