And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.) 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
