And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 of what avail would their past enjoyment be to them? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
