And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, – 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
