And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, – 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
