And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Poets (Alshu'araa'). Sent down in Mecca after The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah) before The Ant (Al-Naml)
