And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And that they say what they do not do? - 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
