The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a clear Book 1 A guide: and glad tidings for the believers,- 2 who are steadfast in prayer, who pay the religious tax, and who have strong faith in the life hereafter. 3 As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds seem attractive to them so they stumble around in perplexity. 4 They are those who will suffer the worst chastisement in this life, and will be the greatest losers in the life to come. 5 (Muhammad), you have certainly received the Quran from the All-wise and All-knowing One. 6 Lo! [While lost in the desert,] Moses said to his family: "Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]; I may bring you from there some tiding [as to which way we are to pursue,] or bring you [at least] a burning brand so that you might warm yourselves." 7 But when he came to it, he was called: "Blessed is whosoever is in the fire, and whosoever is round about it! And glorified be Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 8 "O Musa (Moses)! Verily! It is I, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 9 [And then He said:] "Now throw down thy staff!" But when he saw it move rapidly, as if it were a serpent, he drew back [in terror,] and did not [dare to] return. [And God spoke to him again:] O Moses! Fear not - for, behold, no fear need the message-bearers have in My Presence, 10 as for those who do wrong and then do good after evil, I am most forgiving, most merciful. 11 "And put your hand into your bosom, it will come forth white without hurt. (These are) among the nine signs (you will take) to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people, they are a people who are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 12 But when Our signs came to them in all their clarity they said, "This is clearly sorcery!" 13 And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly! 14
