The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. These are the Verses of the Quran, and (it is) a Book (that makes things) clear; 1 A guidance and good tidings for the believers, 2 who establish their prayers, and pay the obligatory charity, and are certain of the Everlasting Life. 3 As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. 4 Those are they for whom is the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. 5 But [as for thee, O believer,] verily, thou hast received this Qur'an out of the grace of One who is wise, all-knowing. 6 (Remember) when Moses said to his family: "I see a fire. I shall bring you news from it, or bring an ember that you may warm yourselves." 7 And when he came near it he was called: 'Blessed be who is (Moses) in the fire and (the angels) who are around it! Exaltations to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 8 Moses, it is I, Allah, the Almighty, the Wise. 9 Cast down thy staff.' And when he saw it quivering like a serpent he turned about, retreating, and turned not back. 'Moses, fear not; surely the Envoys do not fear in My presence, 10 save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. 11 Put your hand into your pocket. It will come out sheer white but unharmed. This is one of the nine miracles which shall be showing to the Pharaoh and his people; they are truly wicked men." 12 But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes, they said: "This is sorcery manifest!" 13 They denied those Signs out of iniquity and arrogance although their hearts were convinced of their truth. So see how evil was the end of those mischief-makers! 14
