The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ TaSeen. Those are the verses of the Koran, a clear Book, 1 A guidance and good tidings for believers 2 Who fulfil their devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and believe with certainty in the life to come. 3 Verily those who believe not in the Hereafter - fairseeming unto them We have made their works, so that they wander perplexed. 4 Those are they for whom is the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. 5 And most surely you are made to receive the Quran from the Wise, the Knowing Allah. 6 [Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves." 7 And when he came near it he was called: 'Blessed be who is (Moses) in the fire and (the angels) who are around it! Exaltations to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 8 O Moses, verily this is Me, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise! 9 Throw down your staff." When he saw it wriggling like a serpent he turned his back and fled without turning (to look). "O Moses," (said the voice), "be not fearful. Surely those sent as messengers do not fear in My presence, 10 save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. 11 Put your hand into your pocket. It will come out sheer white but unharmed. This is one of the nine miracles which shall be showing to the Pharaoh and his people; they are truly wicked men." 12 But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes, they said: "This is sorcery manifest!" 13 And they belied them (those Ayat) wrongfully and arrogantly, though their ownselves were convinced thereof [i.e. those (Ayat) are from Allah, and Musa (Moses) is the Messenger of Allah in truth, but they disliked to obey Musa (Moses), and hated to believe in his Message of Monotheism]. So see what was the end of the Mufsidun (disbelievers, disobedient to Allah, evil-doers, liars.). 14
