And those who disbelieve say: What! when we have become dust and our fathers (too), shall we certainly be brought forth? 67 “Indeed this promise was given to us, and before us to our forefathers – this is nothing but stories of former people.” 68 Say: 'Journey in the land, then behold how was the end of the sinners.' 69 Do not sorrow for them, nor be thou straitened for what they devise. 70 And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?" 71 Say: "Perhaps that which you wish to hasten on, may be close behind you. 72 Lo! thy Lord is full of bounty for mankind, but most of them do not give thanks. 73 Verily your Lord knows all that their hearts conceal as well as all that they reveal. 74 And there is nothing hidden in the heaven and the earth, but is in a Clear Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 75 Lo! this Qur'an narrateth unto the Children of Israel most of that concerning which they differ. 76 And truly, it (this Quran) is a guide and a mercy to the believers. 77 Verily, your Lord will decide between them (various sects) by His Judgement. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 78 So put thy trust in Allah: for thou art on (the path of) manifest Truth. 79 [But,] verily, thou canst not make the dead hear: and [so, too,] thou canst not make the deaf [of heart] hear this call when they turn their backs [on thee] and go away, 80 nor can you direct the blind to the Right Way, preventing them from falling into error. You can make only those who believe in Our verses to hear the call and then submit. 81 ۞ When the Word falls on them, We shall bring forth for them out of the earth a beast that shall speak unto them: 'Mankind had no faith in Our signs.' 82
