The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 Do the people reckon that they will be left to say 'We believe,' and will not be tried? 2 Yea, indeed, We did test those who lived before them; and so, [too, shall be tested the people now living: and] most certainly will God mark out those who prove themselves true, and most certainly will He mark out those who are lying. 3 Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun Us? Evil is what they judge. 4 Whoever hopes for the Meeting with Allah, then Allah's Term is surely coming. and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 5 He who strives does so for himself. Verily God is independent of the creatures of the world. 6 And those who accepted faith and did good deeds – We will indeed relieve their sins and reward them for the best of their deeds. 7 We have enjoined upon man kindness to his parents, but if they exert pressure on you to associate with Me in My Divinity any that you do not know (to be My associate), do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I shall let you know all that you have done. 8 We shall admit those who believe and do the right among the righteous. 9 There are some people who say: 'We believe in Allah' yet when such is hurt in the cause of Allah, he makes the persecution of people as though it were the punishment of Allah. But then if help comes from his Lord, he will say: 'We were with you' Does Allah not know what is in the chests of the worlds (people)? 10 And surely Allah shall come to know those who believe, and surely He shall come to know the hypocrites. 11 Those who deny say to those who affirm: "Follow our way; we shall carry the burden of your sins." But they cannot carry the burden of their sins in the least. They are liars indeed. 12 They will carry their own loads and other loads besides their own; and will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they contrived. 13
