The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried? 2 We had certainly tried those who lived before them to make sure who were truthful in their faith and who were liars. 3 Do those who practise evil think that they will get the better of Us? Evil is their judgment! 4 Whoso looketh forward to the meeting with Allah (let him know that) Allah's reckoning is surely nigh, and He is the Hearer, the Knower. 5 He who strives does so for himself. Verily God is independent of the creatures of the world. 6 And whosoever believe and work righteous works, We shall purge away from them their ill-deeds and shall recompense them the best of that which they have been working. 7 And upon man We ordained kindness towards parents; and if they strive to make you ascribe a partner with Me, about which you do not have any knowledge, then do not obey them; towards Me only is your return and I will tell you what you used to do. 8 And those who accepted faith and did good deeds – We shall indeed include them among the virtuous. 9 There are among men those who say: "We believe in God;" yet if they happen to suffer in the cause of God they take oppression by men as punishment from God. And if help comes to them from your Lord, they say: "We were with you." Does not God know what is hidden in the hearts of men? 10 Verily Allah knoweth those who believe, and verily He knoweth the hypocrites. 11 The unbelievers say to the believers, 'Follow our path, and let us carry your offences'; yet they cannot carry anything, even of their own offences; they are truly liars. 12 They will certainly carry their own burdens and other burdens besides their own. They will assuredly be called to account on the Day of Resurrection concerning the fabrications which they contrived. 13
