The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ ALIF LAM MIM. 1 Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested. 2 And assuredly We have tempted those who were before them. So Allah will surely know those who are true and He will surely know the liars. 3 Or do they reckon, those who do evil deeds, that they will outstrip Us? Ill they judge! 4 Whoever looks forward [with hope and awe] to meeting God [on Resurrection Day, let him be ready for it]: for, behold, the end set by God [for everyone's life] is bound to come - and He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 5 And whosoever strive, striveth only for himself: verily Allah is Independent of the worlds. 6 As for those who believe and do good works, We shall acquit them of their sins, and recompense them with the best for what they were doing. 7 We have enjoined on man kindness to parents; but if they strive to make thee join with Me that of which thou hast no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return and I shall tell you what ye used to do. 8 And those who believe and work righteous deeds,- them shall We admit to the company of the Righteous. 9 Some profess to believe in God, but when they suffer for God's cause they mistake the persecution of man for the punishment of God. But when help comes to you from God, they will say, "We have always been with you." Is not God fully aware of what is in the hearts of all creatures? 10 And indeed Allah will make known the believers, and indeed He will expose the hypocrites. 11 And those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Follow our way, and we will carry your sins." But they will not carry anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars. 12 They will bear their own burdens, and (other) burdens along with their own, and on the Day of Judgments they will be called to account for their falsehoods. 13
