The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested. 2 for We indeed tested those who went before them? Allah will most certainly ascertain those who spoke the truth and those who lied. 3 Do the evil-doers think they can escape Us? How terrible is their judgment? 4 Whoever hopes for the Meeting with Allah, then Allah's Term is surely coming. and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 5 And whoever strives, strives only for himself, God is independent of all His creation, 6 We shall expiate the sins of the righteously striving believers and shall reward them better than their deeds. 7 We have enjoined upon man kindness to his parents, but if they exert pressure on you to associate with Me in My Divinity any that you do not know (to be My associate), do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I shall let you know all that you have done. 8 And as for those who believe and do good works, We verily shall make them enter in among the righteous. 9 Some profess to believe in God, but when they suffer for God's cause they mistake the persecution of man for the punishment of God. But when help comes to you from God, they will say, "We have always been with you." Is not God fully aware of what is in the hearts of all creatures? 10 And most certainly Allah will know those who believe and most certainly He will know the hypocrites. 11 And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Follow our path and we will bear your wrongs. And never shall they be the bearers of any of their wrongs; most surely they are liars. 12 But they verily will bear their own loads and other loads beside their own, and they verily will be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning that which they invented. 13
