The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 The Romans have been defeated. 2 (within a few years) they will be victorious. 3 in a few years. All power belongs to Allah both before and after. On that day will the believers rejoice 4 With the help of Allah, He helps whom He wills, and He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 5 [This is] God's promise. Never does God fail to fulfill His promise - but most people know [it] not: 6 they only know the outward appearance of the life of this world, and they are neglectful of the Hereafter. 7 Have they not inwardly pondered – that Allah has not created the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, except with truth and a fixed term? And indeed many people deny the meeting with their Lord. 8 Do they not travel in the land, and see what was the end of those before them? They were superior to them in strength, and they tilled the earth and populated it in greater numbers than these (pagans) have done, and there came to them their Messengers with clear proofs. Surely, Allah wronged them not, but they used to wrong themselves. 9 Evil was the end of those evil-doers, for they gave the lie to Allah's Signs and scoffed at them. 10
