Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are verses of the Wise Book. 2 A Guide and a Mercy to the Doers of Good,- 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 These are on (true) guidance from their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 (In an attempt to show that God's revelations are only ancient legends) some people pay for meaningless tales to draw others attention away from the Quran without knowledge and treat as a matter of fun. They will suffer a humiliating torment. 6 For, whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a one, he turns away in his arrogance as though he had not heard them - as though there were deafness in his ears. Give him, then, the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 9 He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
