Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are verses of the Book of Wisdom 2 A guidance and a mercy for the well-doers: 3 Who are constant in devotion, pay the zakat, and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 Surely for those who believe and do the right are pleasure gardens. 8 They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. 9 He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. 10 This is the creation of Allah. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error. 11
