Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are the verses of the sagacious Book, 2 A guidance and a mercy for the doers of goodness, 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 These are on (true) guidance from their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 But among men are also those who spread frivolous stories to mislead (others) from the way of God, without any knowledge, and take it lightly. For such as these the nemesis will be shameful. 6 When Our verses are recited to such a person, he arrogantly turns away, as though he had not heard them, or as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce to him the tidings of a grievous chastisement. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure. 8 In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He has created the skies without any support that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We sent down water from the skies, and thus We made every kind of excellent plant grow there: 10 Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. 11
