In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 Those are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 Guidance and mercy for the righteous. 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 Such are on guidance from their Lord, and such are the successful. 5 But among men there is many a one that prefers a mere play with words [to divine guidance,] so as to lead [those] without knowledge astray from the path of God, and to turn it to ridicule: for such there is shameful suffering in store. 6 And when our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment. 7 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens of serenity. 8 In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind. 10 This is Allah's creation, but show Me what those besides Him have created. Nay, the unjust are in manifest error 11
