Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 The sending down of the Book in which there is no doubt that is from the Lord of the Worlds. 2 Or do they say: “He has fabricated it?” Nay, it is the Truth from your Lord so that you may warn a people to whom no warner came before you; perhaps they will be guided to the Right Way. 3 Allah it is Who created the heavens and the earth, and that which is between them, in six Days. Then He mounted the Throne. Ye have not, beside Him, a protecting friend or mediator. Will ye not then remember? 4 He governs from the heaven to the earth and then the record (of this governance) goes up to Him in a day whose measure is a thousand years in your reckoning. 5 He knows the unseen and the seen. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 6 who gave everything its perfect form. He originated the creation of man from clay, 7 then He made his offspring from a clot of weak water (semen). 8 and then He forms him in accordance with what he is meant to be, and breathes into him of His spirit: and [thus, O men,] He endows you with hearing, and sight, and feelings as well as minds: [yet] how seldom are you grateful! 9 They say, 'What, when we have gone astray in the earth, shall we indeed be in a new creation?' Nay, but they disbelieve in the encounter with their Lord. 10 ۞ Say thou: the angel of death who is set over you shall cause you to die, thereafter unto your Lord ye shall be returned. 11
